Lea Frances is a 21-year-old London-based singer-songwriter from a small town in Northern Germany. Growing up in a non-musical family, somehow music always captivated her. She took guitar lessons at the age of six and played in a classical guitar ensemble for several years. Lea wrote her first songs when she was thirteen years old but kept them entirely to herself until she moved to London at the age of 19 to pursue a degree in songwriting at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.
Her songs are inspired by personal experience. Lea’s conversational, confessional and heartbreakingly honest lyrics in combination with her intriguing, emotive voice leave you thinking about your own life after you have listened to her songs. Her writing is influenced by singer-songwriters such as Julia Michaels, Ed Sheeran, Alessia Cara, Halsey, Tori Kelly, Björk, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, etc.
Lea is working non-stop on improving her craft of songwriting. Currently, she is writing songs for her own project as well as for and with other artists.
She also recently started uploading covers as well as original music to her YouTube channel and playing acoustic sets to showcase her original material in venues around London.
